The Game That Hurt
There was a cheerful girl named Shriya who loved to laugh, play games, and tell funny jokes. She enjoyed being with friends and making everyone smile. But sometimes, she teased others just for fun—without thinking much about it.
One day during recess, Shriya teased her classmate Rashvi about the way she read aloud in class. Everyone giggled. Rashvi gave a small smile, but her eyes looked sad. She stayed quiet the whole day.
Later that afternoon, some girls teased Shriya about her handwriting.
They laughed and made silly jokes about it.
Shriya felt upset, embarrassed, and angry inside.
That evening, while sitting on the balcony, Shriya thought to herself:
“Why did I feel so bad when they teased me?
But when I teased Rashvi, I called it a joke…”
The next day, Shriya shared her feelings with her teacher.
Her teacher listened gently and said,
“You felt hurt, right? That’s how others feel too when they are teased.
Being kind means thinking not just about ourselves, but also about others’ feelings.”
Shriya thought deeply.
“I never meant to hurt Rashvi… I just didn’t think about it.”
At lunch, Shriya went to Rashvi and said softly,
“I’m really sorry for teasing you yesterday. I won’t do it again.”
Rashvi smiled warmly and said,
“Thank you. I’m glad you told me.”
From that day on, Shriya still had fun, laughed, and played—but she made sure her jokes never hurt anyone.
She had learned something important:
Real fun is kind, not hurtful.
🌟Moral of the Story🌟
We don’t like being teased—others don’t either.
Kindness begins when we think about how others feel.
A thoughtful heart brings joy that lasts longer than any joke.
